Identity Crisis - Corporate Identity/Brand Package Refresh

Sunday, 11 October 2009 15:26 by chris

Whether you're just starting your business or have been around for 25 years, the way you project your identity and brand to your customers and potential customers is critical. At Swerve Communications Group, LLC we specialize in the creation and the refreshing of identities/brands that have become stagnant or fragmented. Such is the case of New Frontier Oral Surgery & Rejuvenation Spa in Ocala, FL. Over the years their practice has grown from specializing in Oral Surgery to also include a variety of Rejuvenation Spa services. However, as their business model evolved, their brand and image did not. They had accumulated two different logos for each area of their business and their marketing/corespondence materials lacked consistency due to the various paper stocks, varying ink colors, and overall lack of a cohesive design.

Don't worry... Swerve took them in "a different direction."

Before - Below are some of their brand materials before we got a hold of them... as you can see they are very hodgepodge (that's one of my favorite words to say and type).

Top left - Referring Doctor Pad (inconsistent color in logo); Top center - Letterhead (different paper stock); Top right- Fold over business card (different paper stock color); Bottom left - Appointment card; Bottom right - Envelope. Overall the collection lacks a consistency that does not project a strong image or message to the customer.

After - Below is the finished product designed and produced by Swerve. We were able to consolidate their business into one logo which projects the various aspects of their practice and use a consistent paper stock throughout (Astroparche Sand). More importantly, the designs of the pieces are intertwined which create a professional and consistent appearance.

Top left - Patient Walkout Bill; Top center - Letterhead; Top right - Envelope; Bottom left - Tent Business Card; Bottom center - Referring Doctor Pad (printed on cougar natural for easier reading of patient information); Bottom right - Appointment Card.

A few weeks ago we highlighted a photoshoot for one of our newest clients Secure Foundations Systems, Inc. in Ocala, FL. New Client Site! Renew Property Restorations, LLC

Friday, 21 August 2009 05:34 by chris

Many people work to pay the bills, but very few work to make a difference in the lives of people who might never write them a check or purchase a product or service. These difference makers are Extreme Leaders who want to impact the people around them, and possibly the world. ReNew Property Restorations, LLC in Lakeland, FL specializes in REO Management Services, and we are so thrilled to launch their website today. Their mantra of "Restore, Refresh, ReNew!" lines up with the ideals and values of Swerve Communications Group, LLC. They mission is to beautify neigborhoods and communities by restoring REO/Foreclosure properties. This not only benefits the banks and real estate professionals who have a stake in the properties value and selling appeal, but also it has a huge impact on the value of the neighboring homes. It has been estimated that one foreclosure can result in as much as an additional $220,000 in reduced property value and home equity for nearby homes (Agpar & Duda, 2005).

Steve Farber talks about Extreme Leaders in his book The Radical Leap: A Personal Lesson in Extreme Leadership.

"The Extreme Leader is a generator, a powerful force for action, for progress, and an enthusiastic believer in people and in their capacity to do the awesome" (p 167).

At Swerve we want to do everything in our power to be Extreme Leaders. We do this by taking our client's communication plans in "a different direction" through creativity, exceptional customer care, and efficient project management.

We are proud to call ReNew Property Restorations, LLC a client because of their commitment to extreme leadership and wanting to make a difference.

Secure Foundation Systems, Inc. - Web Site & Photoshoot

Monday, 10 August 2009 05:58 by chris

We are working so hard at Swerve Communications to take our clients in "a different direction." A project that we are very excited about is the development of a web site for Secure Foundation Systems, Inc. in Ocala, FL. Secure Foundation Systems, Inc. specializes in sinkhole remediation services and proudly services all of Florida as a State Certified General Contractor (#CGC1514283). When Ryan Gummer, President of Secure Foundation Systems, Inc. approached Swerve to redevelop their web site we were so enthused to partner with such a professional organization. At Swerve Communications Group, LLC our heart beat as a business is to provide Full-"Swervice" Advertising to our clients to reduce their work load and make the completion of projects an easier process for everyone involved.

An exciting part of this project took place last week when we scheduled a photoshoot to capture the growth of their SFSI, feature their new state of the art equipment, and give their new web site a fresh look. We had beautiful sunny skies and I think I sweated more than I've ever sweated in my life. Despite the sweltering temperatures, we captured over 300 photos and shot 15 minutes of HD quality video. My thanks to everyone at Secure Foundation Systems, Inc including: Ryan Gummer (President), Jim Alexander (VP and General Contractor), Dave Toler (Senior Remediation Consultant), and their highly cooperative staff and crew members. Also a special thank you to Meagan Myatt for her help before, during, and after the photoshoot.

We plan to unveil their new site soon, and hope it has a signifigant impact on their business and the customers they serve.

Let's bake a cake...

Monday, 20 July 2009 05:57 by chris

I was at a birthday party last night with some friends and family. It's always fun to watch how people react to "birthday cake." Those two words will make all people, both young and old, smile from ear-to-ear. While standing around and enjoying our sugar fix, everyone kept asking my girlfriend where she got the cake? She told them it was from Publix in North Ocala. Everyone then began to rave about how amazing it tasted and talked about the icing and the how moist the cake was and... I'm making you hungry aren't I? It was fascinating to see how people wanted to know where they could get a cake just as tasty for their next celebration... the room was abuzz.

Later in the night on the long drive back to Tampa I called my dad, which is a rare event. I never expect anything other than small talk but tonight he surprised me. During our conversation we began to talk about his past experience as a grocery store manager. Without even mentioning any birthday cake or parties he randomly said the most important department in a grocery store is the bakery. He continued to say, "If a bakery screws up a birthday cake, then everyone at that party is going to know which grocery store did it and will probably never go there... every cake has to be perfect."

This led me to think about which part of my business is making the birthday cakes. What segment of my operations is going to be scrutinized by large groups of customers? Those same customers, or people in their network, will determine whether I am a delicious custom cake with icecream melting all over itself, or am I just another pathetic pastry that the baker scribbled a name on.

It is so important to realize the power of word of mouth (WOM) and how it can impact your business... positively and negatively. You cannot just sit back and hope people will talk about your business or idea. First you need to make sure your product and company is worth promoting... if it isn't then they'll probably bash it, and if it's just average then they won't talk about you at all! After you've come up with the perfect recipe you need to actively pursue the customers who will talk the most.

Here are some tips from Andy Sernovitz and his book Word of Mouth Marketing. Buy it on Amazon.

A good word of mouth program is built on finding and taking care of your talkers:
- Identify the right talkers.
- Create a communication channel to reach them regularly.
- Give them the topics to talk about.
- Keep them happy and motivated.

To do these things really well, always remember the three reasons people talk. They want to feel good, they want to help others, and they want to belong to a group. Work with these motivations to keep people talking."

I don't know about you but I want my customers to talk positively and passionately about me and my company, and I don't care if they are talking with their mouths full... actually I'd prefer it.

Let me ask you this... what area of your business is making the birthday cakes, and what can you do to make them better?

Call Swerve Communications Group, LLC in Tampa, FL, and let us help you construct an advertising and creative communication campaigns to show how deliciously mouth watering your business and products are.
